A Cumberland County woman was taken to the hospital after she climbed out of a window to escape a fire at her home.
It started just after 6:00 p.m. Thursday on the 4700 block of Trindle Road in Hampden Township.
Fire officials said the woman was in the kitchen at the time, and had to climb out of a window at the back of the home. At the same time, a neighbor who saw the smoke rushed over and helped her escape.
"Upon our arrival the victim was being helped out a window by a neighbor," Hampden Township Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Ozog. "She was rescued prior to our arrival. Our crews went to work quick. We pulled a hose line and attacked the fire, put it out really quick."
The woman is expected to be okay.
