Job Description: Codes diagnoses and procedures for medical records using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). Codes procedures where applicable using Current Procedural Terminology (CPT). Assigns inpatient cases to the optimal and appropriate Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) by appropriately selecting and sequencing diagnoses and procedures for coding. 

Experience: Recent experience with ICD-9 coding. Experience in an acute care setting preferred. 

Education: Two-year Registered Health Information Technician Program (RHIT), certification as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent experience.
