Several people are out of their homes after a bad fire in Harrisburg. Two people were trapped inside when it started. They're alive thanks to quick-thinking neighbors and firefighters.
The fire started around 11:30 Sunday morning at a home on the 600 block of Peffer Street. Investigators say it started on the second floor and spread to the third floor attic.
The couple inside the home was fast asleep. Neighbors saw what was going on, and started yelling and banging on the doors. Another man went in after them, but the flames were just too high.
Firefighters arrived and used a ladder truck to get the couple, along with their small dog, out of a window.
Five people living in the adjoining home also made it out safely. There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
