Harrisburg City Council interviews 32 candidates for Kim's seat

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Imagine a job interview with a live audience.

Thirty-two candidates showed up to go through an interview process for the Harrisburg City Council seat once held by Patty Kim, who last month was elected to the state House of Representatives.

Each of the 32 candidates got two minutes to state their case before council members selected six finalists. Those six were then interviewed at length in Council chambers.

The six finalists are Floyd Stokes, Latasha Frye, Julie Bancroft, Bruce Weber, Joseph Solomon and Michael Parker.

"I was so impressed with how many people came out for the position," said Council President Wanda Williams. "I certainly was impressed with the willingness to serve and all the experience they bring to the table."

Council will get together next Tuesday and discuss the candidates in caucus before making their final decision that night at the regular meeting.
