Holy Spirit Hospital - Clinical Nurse Educator

Job Description:

1. This Nursing Professional Development Specialist coordinates the educational process for a defined clinical area(s)/program(s).
2. Assesses educational needs. Plans, develops and delivers appropriate education and training and evaluates educational outcomes. Continues to review, revise and update educational programs.
3. Educational liaison to departments, units, other systems initiatives requiring training.
4. Contributes to health system performance through appropriate evaluations/needs assessments.
5. Facilitates the planning, development and delivery of system-wide programs.
6. Identifies the use of appropriate educational resources which may include the development of self-learning CBT programs and E-learning programs.
7. Provides consultation to areas regarding education/training.
8. Attends appropriate external education programs to enhance existing education program.
9. Participates in other non-clinical program presentations as assigned.
10. Rotating member of Holy Spirit Hospital PSNA providership council.
11. Maintains established policy and procedure in relation to appropriate quality assessment tools as assigned.
12. Maintains growth and development through seminars, workshops, professional affiliations.
13. Maintains age-specific and other related clinical competencies.
14. Collaborates with assigned patient services personnel to provide on-going clinical education programs/updates.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1. BSN required, Master's Degree preferred.
2. Two to five years experience as an educator with demonstrated ability in course development and presentation skills. An appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered.
3. Current Pennsylvania State RN license.
4. Current American Heart Association BLS required, American Heart Association ACLS desirable.
5. Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) experience is desirable.
6. Certification in ANCC Nursing Professional Development required within two years of employment.
7. High degree of interpersonal skills necessary in order to develop productive relationships with a wide variety of health care professionals.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects.
9. Basic computer skills.
