A 12-year-old Palmyra boy told police he was approached by a stranger in a van who asked him if he wanted candy.
The boy reported that he was at the intersection of Hazel and Chestnut streets when the driver pulled up to him at around 5 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
He refused the stranger's offer and began walking home, but the stranger in the van followed him, he told Palmyra police.
The boy described the driver as a very tall black man, about 30-40 years old, who was wearing a red shirt and black pants.
The van was said to be white with black rear doors, covered side windows, and a license plate described as "falling off," police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Palmyra police at 717-838-8189.
