NEWPORT, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police are reporting an arson attempt in Perry County involving a nine-year-old and his stuffed animal.
State police responded to a call Thursday evening in Tyrone Township. When they arrived at the scene they found a young boy who had placed his stuffed animal on a coal stove in his residence in an attempt to set the home on fire, police said.
The nine-year-old was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The incident was referred to Perry County Children and Youth.
