The president and CEO of the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce has resigned from the Harrisburg Municipal Financial Recovery Advisory Committee.
David Black submitted his resignation letter at an advisory committee meeting Wednesday morning.
Black was under fire for producing a parody video that mocked Mayor Linda Thompson's pronunciation of the word "city" and
City Council's inability to solve its massive debt crisis.
Black has apologized, saying he never meant to offend anyone with the video presented during the Chamber's awards night ceremony last week, but some suggested the skit was racist and councilwoman Sandra Reid has called for Black to step down.
In a statement Wednesday, Black said he does not want "recent controversies of my making to stall or otherwise impede the clear progress that is being made in the financial recovery of Harrisburg."
Governor Ton Corbett appointed Black to the advisory committee and will now find his replacement.
