STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police in State College are looking for the man who cut a woman's throat near Penn State's campus just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say the victim, a 40-year-old woman, was able to fight back after being stabbed. After she bit his hand, the man ran away.
The assault occurred on a bike trail near Vairo Boulevard in State College. The suspect was last seen in an area with a high student population, in a wooded area near Sunset Park.
The man is described as a white male with facial hair, 5-feet, 8-inches tall, wearing black clothing and a backpack, and possibly a gray sweatshirt. Police say the man is carrying a knife and should be considered dangerous.
Penn State officials advised students and residents in the area to stay inside and secure their doors.
