Police: burglar went into sleeping child's bedroom

LITITZ, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Lancaster County are investigating a pair of home burglaries in Warwick Township, including an incident where the intruder went into the bedroom of a sleeping child.

Northern Lancaster County Regional police said a parent who was awake heard footsteps on the stairs and saw the burglar enter the child's bedroom. The parent went to the bedroom and saw the intruder standing beside the sleeping child before he fled past the parent and out the door of the home in the 800 block of Ballstown Road at around 3 a.m. Sunday.

The intruder was described as a white man with a medium build, about 5'2" tall, and wearing a puffy jacket and a tight fitting knit cap.

About an hour-and-a-half later, a man reported he was sleeping on his couch in the 2100 block of Main Street said awoke to find a burglar standing in his living room, police said. The intruder fled when the resident confronted him. No description was available.
