A nine-hour standoff at the Hall Manor housing development in Harrisburg ended after the suspect was found dead, law enforcement officials announced just after 12 a.m. Tuesday.More >>
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
The man involved in a nine-hour standoff with Harrisburg police in Hall Manor shot and killed himself, Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick announced in a press conference Tuesday morning.
Abel Roman, 24, of Philadelphia, was wanted for allegedly shooting a 23-year-old man in the chest, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. The incident began around 3 p.m. yesterday when police arrived at Hall Manor to serve a warrant. The incident did not end until around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
At 12:32 a.m., Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico wrote on Twitter that Roman was deceased.
Dozens of shots were fired during the standoff and Harrisburg police officer Kirk Aldrich was injured during the incident. He sustained an injury to the hand and is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
