Teens arrested in Lancaster store robbery

Posted: Updated:
LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

Two Lancaster teens have been charged as adults in an armed store robbery.

Fifteen-year-old Andrew Ortiz is accused of threatening the owner of Luciano's Store with a knife and demanding cash Tuesday before fleeing the business at 259 West King Street with no money, according to city police.

Seventeen-year-old Karylaine Dalexa Rodriguez-Echevaria is accused of helping Ortiz get into the nearby Umbrella Works apartment building, where he hid after the robbery, police said.

Both were charged with felony counts of robbery and criminal conspiracy.

Police surrounded the apartment building and took three people into custody following the incident.

The third suspect was released without charges, police said, but the investigation is continuing.
