State police in Gettysburg have charged a Hanover man who allegedly threw a bunch of bananas during an argument at an Adams County home.
Theodore Kauffman Jr., 29, went to the Butler Township home unannounced, and was disorderly and under the influence of alcohol, when he got into the argument Saturday evening, police said in a news release.
Kauffman then threw the bunch of bananas, two of which struck 40-year-old Donald Klingensmith, of Spring Grove, in the chest, police said.
He then fled the home but was later arrested at a local bar, police said. He was later charged with harassment and public drunkenness and transported to Adams County Prison.
Online court documents indicate he pleaded guilty to the summary offenses before a district judge on Monday and was ordered to pay $462.50 in fines and costs.
