Police ID man killed by train in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have identified a Lancaster County man who died after he was struck by a train Tuesday night in Columbia.

David L. Nolt, 28, of Ephrata, died from the multiple traumatic injuries he sustained as a result of being hit by the train, Columbia police said Wednesday.

Nolt was struck by the northbound Norfolk Southern train as it was coming from Lancaster and heading to the Harrisburg area.

He was found on the tracks behind the Columbia Fire Company, between Union Street and Locust Street, just before 5 p.m.

He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
