HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A convoy of about 100 out-of-state police cars passed through Central Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon on a very special mission -- to deliver gifts and cards to a five-year-old boy who has been fighting cancer since 2009.

When Nathan Norman of Rustburg, Va., began his most recent round of chemotherapy in September, he asked his parents to put up the Christmas tree and decorations.

"He thought that would make him feel better cause he didn't feel good," his mother Dawn Norman told WSET-TV in September.

Now, law enforcement officers from New England are on their way to bring the Norman family some more Christmas cheer. abc27 heard reports that they were traveling on I-81 South and I-78 South.

WSET-TV reported in September that since putting up their Christmas decorations, several of the Norman's neighbors and friends put up their Christmas decorations early as well. In addition, the Normans has received nationwide support and, just last week, were invited to the presidential inauguration next year. They will be guests of the secret service, and will be transported by them to and from their hotel in Washington DC.
