HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Governor Tom Corbett has ordered all Pennsylvania flags in the Capitol Complex and at commonwealth facilities in Allegheny County to fly at half-staff on Friday, December 21, to honor Petty Officer 1st Class Nicholas D. Checque.

Checque, 28, of Monroeville, was killed December 9 in Afghanistan during a mission to rescue an American doctor captured by the Taliban.

He was a 10-year decorated member of Navy SEAL Team Six.

Corbett ordered that state flags shall remain at half-staff until sundown on Friday, the day of Checque's burial in Arlington National Cemetery.

On Wednesday, President Barack Obama ordered United States flags to be lowered in respect for Sen. Daniel K. Inouye, who died Monday at the age of 88. Flags are to remain lowered until Inouye's internment Sunday in Hawaii.
