A New York man has been arrested for passing counterfeit $100 bills at the Tanger Outlets in Lancaster County.
Andres Castano Rios, 27, of Queens, dropped his shopping bags and fled when officers responded Wednesday afternoon, but was captured after a foot chase through the outlet complex, according to East Lampeter Township police.
Police said Rios passed five counterfeit $100 bills at five different stores.
In each incident, he purchased inexpensive items and received between $83 and $90 in change, police said.
He was charged with five counts each of forgery and theft.
