PennDOT officials lifted the travel restrictions on most major roadways in central Pennsylvania at midnight Thursday. The speed limits on many main routes were lowered to 45 miles per hour as a winter storm system dropped snow and sleet across the region.
The speed limit restriction remains in place for portions of I-81 north of the I-78 interchange in Lebanon County.
PennDOT workers spent the night treating the roadways to help make the morning commute easier for drivers.
