Midstate breast cancer patient, dancer dies after fulfilling dream

Posted: Updated:

Earlier this year we brought you the story of Kelly Rogers, a midstate woman battling breast cancer who had a dream to visit the set of abc's Dancing with the Stars. Rogers passed away on Christmas Eve.

In September, Roger's friends Joann Tresco and Klaudia Chilcoat, made her dream come true: they set up a visit to the set of Dancing With The Stars.

Rogers, who was battling stage four breast cancer, had the chance to see the show and dance with her favorite performer, Derek Hough.

Earlier this month, Rogers danced at PA Dancesport with her friends to raise breast cancer awareness.

Despite her illness, one of Kelly's sayings was, "Find something that makes you happy and do it."

Rogers made a lot of people happy. Her warm smile, kind heart and strength will be remembered.

In her honor, a Time of Sharing and Dance will be held at PA Dancesport on Sunday, January 27 from 1-4 p.m.
