Update: The cloud cover today is proving very stubborn, so expect more clouds than sun this afternoon and evening. Even more cloud cover will stream into the Midstate later this evening as a developing low pressure system moves north closer to Pennsylvania. This same low pressure system will provide snow on Saturday. The details of the storm remain unchanged due to consistency and good agreement with the forecast guidance. Please see the details below.
The track of this storm will be much further south this time around, and we'll end up getting brushed with just enough moisture to produce a couple of inches of snow by Saturday evening. We expect the snow to start between 4-6am, and continue through Saturday morning. The steady snow should begin to taper off between 2-4pm, with average snowfall accumulations between 2-4 inches. A couple of spots could reach 5 inches. Overall, it will be just enough snow to make the region look like a winter wonderland as we move into the New Year!
