HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Dauphin County man found dead inside a hotel room following a standoff with police last week took his own life, investigators confirmed Monday.

Coroner Graham Hetrick said 47-year-old Joseph Pavelic hanged himself with bed sheets at the Days Inn on Front Street in Susquehanna Township.

Police said Pavelic was wanted for two bank robberies when they received a tip that he was staying at the hotel.

Pavelic barricaded himself inside the room Thursday evening and refused to talk to police negotiators. He was found dead after a standoff that lasted several hours.
