While some took the day to recover from New Year's festivities, midstate crowds hit the ground running -- literally.
"I'm here because I have one goal in mind and that's to win my show in 2013," said Chris Bohonyi at LA Fitness in Camp Hill.
He's focused on taking the top spot at a body building competition this summer.
"Its pretty much a lifestyle you have to live," he said.
It helps that Bohonyi is a personal trainer, but for other fitness hopefuls the first of the year can be as simple as a fresh start.
The LA Fitness in Camp Hill was packed Tuesday morning. It's a routine that the staff there see from year to year.
"With the New Year's resolution a lot of people are conscious about fitness and overall health," said Sales Manager Doug Wagner.
The challenge, he says, is keeping the numbers and motivation high.
His gym tries to help out by offering extra classes and hiring trainers that keep tabs on their clients.
For the more independent minded, there are tons of great - free - apps designed to keep your resolution on track.
Livestrong.com's app allows a user to track and share their progress. While Mint.com is another free app, which is a valuable tool for anyone who wants to keep up with their gym fees with out breaking other monetary resolutions.
