Man made $4,500 in purchases with lost credit card

State police in Newville are looking for the man who stole a lost wallet and used the credit cards to make $4,500 in purchases.

The man took the wallet from the Cumberland Valley Service Plaza along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in West Pennsboro Township on Sunday and then purchased a large number of gift cards from Nordstrom, American Express, Visa and MasterCard, police said.

The cards were used at the Jo-Ann Fabrics store in Lemoyne and a CVS pharmacy in York. One of the purchased gift cards was for $500 and the others were for $100, police said.
