Man Wanted for Armed Robbery Outside Mart in Roanoke

Posted:

Roanoke, VA – Officials are looking for a man they say robbed an 84-year-old man outside a mart in Roanoke on December 24.

The Roanoke Police Department says it happened on the parking lot of the A&M Mart on the 2500 block of Hollins Road around 9:45 p.m.

Police say they found the 84-year-old man lying in the ground in the parking lot. Officials say the man told them another man came up to him showing a firearm and demanding his wallet. The man pushed the older man on the ground and took money before taking off.

Officials say the robber is a black man in his 20s. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, an orange shirt, a cap and dark pants. He was clean shaven and wore prescription glasses.

If you have any information, officials ask that you call the Roanoke Police Department at (540) 853-5959 or Crime Line at (540) 344-8500. Crime Line may offer a monetary reward for any information leading to an arrest in a crime.
