Girl, 12, struck by hit-and-run driver

EAST PETERSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 12-year-old East Petersburg girl was sent to a hospital Thursday morning after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver at her school bus stop.

Manheim Township police said the girl was crossing Graystone Road at Hollow Drive when she was hit at 6:50 a.m. by an eastbound vehicle that continued without stopping.

Her name and medical condition were not released.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle is a dark-colored "crossover" vehicle and may have fresh damage to the right side, police said.

It is also believed that the vehicle is from a local residence.
