Neighborhood without power after truck hits utility pole near school

CARLISLE, Pa. (WHTM) -

A dump truck that hit a pole in front of a Carlisle elementary school has left nearly 1,000 PPL customers without power.

Letort Elementary School is running on backup generators while PPL works to get power restored, dispatchers said. An area nursing home is also running on generators.

PPL's outage map shows 992 customers without power in Cumberland County.
