Bishop McDevitt High School students are beginning classes at their new building in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County Monday.
Eight years ago, school officials began planning and fundraising for the new school. Construction on the $45 million building began about a year ago.
There are 660 students currently enrolled at the school, but the new building can accommodate 950. Officials are hoping to grow into the building.
"This is a super day for us, a super day for the community because it's the future, it's all about the future," said Bishop Joseph McFadden of the Harrisburg diocese.
The old building on Market Street in Harrisburg is up for sale. Officials said several parties are interested in purchasing the building.
