Posted: Updated:

A man from South Carolina turned himself in to Lower Allen Township authorities, claiming responsibility for the homicide of his wife.

On the evening of Jan. 6, police were called to a business in the 1500 block of Cedar Cliff Drive for a man wanting to turn himself in for a homicide. Officers detained the man without incident.

Jonathan Craig Roe, 28, of Iva, S. C., told officers he had murdered his wife and was tired of running.

Lower Allen Police did not find any warrants for his arrest. The Iva Police Department in South Carolina was contacted and provided information on the location of the victim.

Iva Police discovered the body of Sonja Lynn Roe, 48, in a residence in Iva. The homicide investigation is being handled by the Iva Police Department.

Lower Allen Police charged Jonathan Roe with being a fugitive from justice. He was arraigned and placed in Cumberland County Prison without bail, pending extradition proceedings from South Carolina.

Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed will be handling the extradition request from
South Carolina. Until that request is made, Roe will be held in the Cumberland County Prison.
