Heavy Smoke Snarls Traffic on Route 29 in Pittsylvania Co.

Pittsylvania Co, VA - Route 29 North in Pittsylvania County was shut down for about 15 minutes Monday morning, all because of overwhelming smoke.

 Around 9 a.m., emergency crews were called to the scene for a fire.

 State Police say a truck was carrying a dumpster and the flames started inside the dumpster.

 The truck pulled over and removed the dumpster from the truck.

 Blairs Volunteer Fire Department responded and was able to put out the fire.

 No one was hurt.
