Kohn lawsuit will be settled for $2.3M

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A settlement is about to be reached with former Harrisburg superintendent Dr. Gerald Kohn and his chief deputies for $2.3 million, who were ousted by the mayor before the end of his contract.

It is unclear exactly who is getting what, but it is confirmed that the district's insurance company will pay $2 million of it.

Taxpayers will chip in $125,000.

As part of the deal, lawsuits against the mayor and her appointed board of control members have been dropped.

It appears Kohn and his deputies were entitled to a hearing after being fired and they didn't get it, forcing the district to accept the settlement deal.
