HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Dauphin County man and three North Carolina residents have been arrested for their alleged roles in an organized crime group that was manufacturing counterfeit checks drawn on Harrisburg area businesses.

Swatara Township police said Cody Taylor, of Halifax, was taken into custody Tuesday after he attempted to pass one of the fake checks at the Metro Bank branch at 4250 Derry Street.

Officers then went to an area motel and arrested 35-year-old Erik Nelson and 33-year-old Jason Small, both of North Carolina, police said.

A fourth defendant, 30-year-old Davila Roseboro, also of North Carolina, was arrested during a search at a second hotel, police said.

Police said they also recovered evidence of the crime in Roseboro's hotel room.

Taylor was charged with forgery and theft by deception and sent to Dauphin County Prison on $10,000 bail.

Nelson, Small, and Roseboro were charged with counts including forgery, theft by deception, access device fraud, and possessing instruments of crime. Each was being held in the prison on $100,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Swatara Township police at 717-564-2550.
