Police are investigating a shooting incident in Lebanon.
On Jan. 9 around 10:45 a.m. police responded to the area of 12th and Buttonwood Streets for a shooting victim. Officers found 33-year-old Christopher Barrett of Lebanon with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his lower back. He was conscious and responsive.
Barrett was transported a nearby medical facility for treatment where it was later determined that his injuries were not life-threatening.
Witnesses reported that a man in dark clothing shot at the victim as the victim ran from the area of the Beautex Playground.
Other witnesses saw a small black Honda with white rims leaving the area of the playground after the shooting.
State police assisted the Lebanon City Police Department and had contact with the black Honda described by witnesses. A vehicle pursuit ensued from the area of 11th and Cumberland Streets, but the car in question was able to get away.
The black Honda was eventually found unoccupied in the area of North 11th Street in the city.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information may call police at 717-272-6611.
