ELLIOTTSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
Police were called to West Perry High School around 8 a.m. on Jan. 9.
Officers responded to an incident involving a .45 caliber bullet found on the floor of the school. After police conducted an investigation it was determined that the bullet belonged to a juvenile student who had accidentally brought it to school.
The student was charged with disorderly conduct through District Court.
The school was locked down from between 10:50 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Parents were notified via email about the lock-down.
In the school's statement they informed parents that the state police, the K9 Unit and school administrators conducted a search of the building to address safety concerns. According to officials a non-invasive wanding search was enacted involving approximately 250 students.
