Covington Man Dies in Car Accident

Alleghany County, VA- State Police are investigating a single car accident that killed a Covington man Wednesday. Investigators say 21-year-old Christopher Baker died at the scene of the accident.

It happened around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday on Route 18 just south of Route 609 in Alleghany County.

Troopers say Baker was riding in a car with 24-year-old Chadwin Agner of Covington going north when Agner ran off the left side of the road... striking a tree.

Officials say Agner was not wearing a seat belt and he was taken to Alleghany Regional Hospital.

They say Baker was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
