Police: man broke through roof, ran off with cigarette case

LEOLA, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 23-year-old man entered the Getty Mart in Leola through the roof and ran out the front door carrying a display case of cigarettes.

Ryan Ira Childs, of Ephrata, was cut off by police responding to the scene. Police recovered $2,200 in cigarettes and pipes from Childs and have charged him with burglary and theft.

While entering through the roof around 1:40 a.m., Childs activated the alarm system and caused $10,000 in damage.
