Lancaster County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information in the murder of Allan Wayne Hess, 59.

Hess was found dead inside an apartment on the 200 block of West Walnut Street one week ago. The coroner ruled his death a homicide by sharp force trauma.

Investigators are seeking information regarding Hess' activities and whereabouts prior to the homicide. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Nickel at (717) 735-3358 or Lancaster City/County Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-1913. Before the murder, Hess had been staying with the tenant of the first-floor apartment on West Walnut Street for a short period of time. The tenant of the residence was located, and investigators have spoken with him. His whereabouts during the incident have been accounted for, and he has been cooperative with authorities.
