Lynchburg - High Point snapped LU's three-game winning streak Thursday evening in Big South women's basketball in Lynchburg, beating the Flames 71-63.
Flames assistant Alexis Sherard filled in as head coach with Carey Green saddled with the flu. High Point bolted to a 12-4 lead, the Flames battled back but still trailed by seven at the half 37-30. Tolu Omotola helped keep LU close, the redshirt senior scored a game-high 19. The Flames rallied to tie just over five minutes into the second half, but the Panthers went on a 10-0 run and never trailed.
Devon Brown added 15 points for Liberty. Tayler Tremblay led High Point with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Cheyenne Parker chipped in 11. Liberty falls to 13-and-6 overall, 5-and-2 in the Big South. High Point climbs to 5-and-2 in the league, 11-and-7 overall.
