HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police responded to a report of a body found in Harrisburg, but investigators do not consider the death "suspicious."

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1600 block of Green Street on Jan. 19 around 11:15 p.m. on a report that a dead body was found in an apartment.

Witnesses said they arrived at the third floor apartment and found the badly decomposed body of a man in a bed. He was wearing boxers and laying on his back. Witnesses called police after making the discovery.

A possible identification has been made, but it has not been confirmed.

The body did not show signs of trauma. An autopsy will be needed to determine details due to the decomposition of the body. It is estimated that the man had been dead for 10 to 15 days.

The apartment was locked, secure and without evidence of disturbance.

A detective visited the woman who is listed as the sole occupant of the apartment. She gave information to assist in the identification of the man.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information may contact police at 717-255-3114.
