Winds will increase for today and tomorrow, allowing a great arctic air mass to sink southward. Expect partly cloudy skies both today and Wednesday with afternoon highs struggling to make it to 20 degrees. Blustery conditions will add to the chill with wind speeds of 15-20 mph through tonight. Expect wind chill values this afternoon to be near 0 degrees and overnight it could feel like -10 degrees at times!
The arctic air will be tough to scour out of the area this week, so as a low pressure system pushes into the Pacific northwest on Wednesday and moves quickly through the Midwest, There is a very strong likelihood that this system will bring mainly snow to the midstate for Friday. It will not be a major storm, but it should be enough to bring another layer of snow to the midstate by the weekend.
