Police file charges in Lebanon shooting incident

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police have filed charges and arrested 20-year-old Jose Gonzalez of Lebanon in relation to a shooting incident that happened in April of 2012.

On April 8, 2012 police were dispatched to the Good Samaritan emergency room for a gunshot wound victim. Jose Martinez, 24 years old, of Lebanon, had a gunshot wound to his neck.

The investigation determined that the incident occurred on April 8 around 3:30 a.m. at a party at the Brookside Apartments. An argument at the party escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Martinez was shot.

Martinez has suffered permanent paralysis to his lower extremities as a result of the shooting.

Police have identified Gonzalez as the shooter and charged him with attempted homicide and aggravated assault.  He was arraigned and placed in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility on $1 million bail.

Gonzalez was already in the Lebanon County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges.
