Flu numbers down from last week

The Health Department has released this week's new reported flu cases, and the number is lower than last week's count.

For the week of Jan. 13 through 19, the state has had 4,903 new reported flu cases.

However the week prior Pennsylvania had 5,835 new cases, and the week before that was 5,135.

The Health Department also released records for the number of flu-related deaths this season, beginning at Oct. 2, 2012. Lancaster reported three deaths. Franklin and York had two, and Cumberland, Dauphin and Lebanon reported one death. Adams and Perry Counties have not had any flu-related deaths.
