3,400 customers to be without power Wednesday morning
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -
About 3,400 Adams Electric customers in will be without power from 2 to 6 a.m. Wednesday morning as the company works to make repairs that caused an outage Tuesday.
Adams Electric said the outage will affect customers in Orrtanna, Fairfield, Carroll Valley, Cashtown and the Big Flat areas of Adams and Franklin counties. The company will be working to permanently repair a switch at Met-Ed's Orrtanna Breaker Station that caused a power outage Tuesday morning.
The company is urging residents to make the necessary overnight arrangements due to low overnight temperatures. abc27 meteorologists say the expected overnight low is about eight degrees Fahrenheit.
Adams Electric said customers should prepare back-up heating systems or make arrangements to stay elsewhere overnight. They also encourage residents to slightly open faucets to allow a small drip to avoid freezing pipes.
