York Co. police departments to hold recruitment fair Wednesday

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Thirteen York County police departments will be recruiting new hires at the York Fairgrounds between 5 and 9 p.m. tonight.

The following police departments will have officers and equipment at the Toyota Center to answer questions:

  • Springettsbury Township
  • Spring Garden Township
  • York City
  • Southwestern Regional
  • West York Borough
  • Hanover Borough
  • Northeastern Regional
  • Stewartstown
  • Wrightsville
  • West Manchester Township
  • Penn Township

Members of the York County Forensic Team, Drug Task Force and Quick Response team will also be on side. K-9 demonstrations will take place at 7 and 8 p.m. in the main hall.

Organizers could not specifically say how many positions they were hiring for but emphasized that applications submitted will stay on file for two years. 

Each police department in attendance is a member of the Metropolitan York Police Testing Consortium. The consortium will be accepting applications until 4:30 p.m. on February 15. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and meet age, physical and mental requirement.
