MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police said a mother was killed in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday night. Her two children inside the car survived.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of West Lisburn Road and Fairway Drive in Monroe Township.

Police said the vehicle was negotiating a right curve on the crest of a hill and lost control, hitting a dirt embankment. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was then ejected as the car traveled along the embankment before coming to a rest back in the roadway.

Troopers identified the driver as 45-year-old Amy Lefchak of Dillsburg, and said the coroner pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her 11-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter, both wearing seatbelts, sustained minor injuries, police said.
