Cold temperatures and a weak disturbance in the upper atmosphere are helping to create some light snow showers across the area this morning. A quick coating of one inch of snow is possible due to the ground being frozen. Most of the activity should wind down within a few hours after sunrise. The rest of today will be partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the mid 20's.
Tomorrow's snow maker continues to show a lack of moisture as it drops out of Alberta, Canada. This storm will move quickly, bringing snow showers to the area while reinforcing the arctic air for the weekend. We should start to see snow showers develop in the afternoon and last through much of the evening. The snow will be very light and powdery in nature with an accumulation of a coating to 2 inches possible. Overall, this will be a minor snow event that should be easy to brush off the sidewalk.
