YORK, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in York County are attempting to identify the man who robbed a Manchester Township bank Friday afternoon.

Northern York County Regional police said the robber placed a black diaper bag on a counter at the Metro Bank, at 55 Arsenal Road, and told a teller to put money into the bag.

He did not display any weapons, nor did he threaten that he had one, police said. The amount of money taken was not immediately determined.

Bank employees reported that the man was seen outside the bank before the robbery and appeared to be taking photographs of the building.

He then entered the bank and stood in line for the tellers. Once it was his turn, he turned and walked towards the exit, stopped at the check writing station and pretended to fill out a banking slip, police said.

He fled the bank towards North George Street and then traveled through backyards and eventually crossed North George Street onto Frelen Road. He then entered a wooded area between Frelen Road and I-83, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northern York County Regional Police Department at (717) 292-3647.
