Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Harrisburg woman told police she was robbed of her purse by a man who pulled a sawed-off shotgun from his pants.

The woman, a 29-year-old Midtown resident, reported that she was walking to a nearby place for breakfast when the robber confronted her at the intersection of Susquehanna and Basin streets at around 9:30 a.m., according to Harrisburg police.

She said she dropped her purse and moved back before the robber picked up the purse and ran.

The woman told officers that she ran after the robber while screaming for help. She said two service technicians from a local company tried to help her, but the robber got away, according to police.

She lost her cell phone, keys, iPod and a small amount of cash, but was not harmed.

Anyone with information may call Harrisburg police at 717-255-3114.
