Resource officer will patrol Central Dauphin Middle Schools

Posted: Updated:
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The Central Dauphin School Board gave its approval to have a police resource officer patrol three middle schools in the district.

luAnna Brook is a 10-year veteran with the Lower Paxton Township Police Department. Brook will patrol Central Dauphin Middle School, Linglestown Middle School and Central Dauphin East Middle School during the week on a part-time basis.

Brook says a resource officer provides more than just protection. She says some students don't feel comfortable approaching people with their problems and concerns, but she will let them know that she can be approached and trusted.

No official word on when the middle school effort will begin. High schools in the district have full-time resource officers, and the elementary schools are patrolled by township police.
