MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized after he was struck by a car Wednesday morning in Cumberland County.

The teen was struck at the intersection of St. John's Church Road and Park Street in Hampden Township at around 6:25 a.m.

Hampden Township police said the boy apparently ran out onto the roadway and into the path of a 2000 Buick LeSabre.

He was transported to the hospital by ambulance and was listed in stable condition, police said.

Police said darkness and early morning fog were factors in the incident.
