MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

The preliminary results of an autopsy on a Mechanicsburg student indicate there were no traumatic injuries that caused the death, according to the county coroner's office.

Cumberland County chief deputy coroner Matthew Stoner said the death of 17-year-old James Robert Wilson remains under investigation and no further details of the autopsy are available at this time.

Stoner added that all parents, students and staff at Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School should continue all normal activities, as the findings surrounding the death investigation show no reason to be alarmed.

Wilson was a senior who experienced a medical emergency while in the high school music room Tuesday. He was transported to a hospital by ambulance and was pronounced dead a short time later.

In a statement released Wednesday, Superintendent Mark Leidy said the Mechanicsburg School District community is deeply saddened by the unexpected and sudden loss.

He said Wilson was an active and talented member of the school's music program and an accomplished student.

"He will be missed, particularly by his fellow musicians, with whom he spent much time," Leidy said.

Leidy said counseling will continue to be available for any student or staff member who is in need of the services.
